Our forever residents

Meet the beloved horses and ponies who have found their forever home at Galloping Guardians. Each one has a unique story and holds a special place in our hearts. Learn more about their journeys and how they enrich our lives every day.

Meet Ruby: a story of resilience

Ruby, a magnificent 25-year-old ex-show jumper, embodies the spirit of resilience. Rescued from the most dire conditions, she was incredibly fortunate to survive. Her journey is a testament to hope and the power of dedicated care. Ruby's gentle nature and enduring spirit make her a cherished permanent resident at Galloping Guardians.

Toto: safe at last

Toto, our cheeky 14-year-old Welsh pony, came to us due to a change in personal circumstances for his previous owner. After an unsuccessful foster placement, he returned to Galloping Guardians to stay. We believe in safeguarding our animals, and for Toto, that means a permanent, loving home where he can thrive without further upheaval.

A life of peace and care

Our permanent residents enjoy a life filled with peace, patience, and dedicated care. For the retired horses, a typical day includes daily grazing, gentle grooming, and plenty of rest. If we have ridden horses among our permanent residents, they are worked appropriately. Every animal here is surrounded by a calm environment, ensuring their well-being and happiness.

"To stop them from being passed about, we only allow so many times for our horses to find homes, so after 3 failed home attempts all our horses are kept home to stop any misfortunes or upsets."
